Meet our leaders

Greg Phillips. Partner. Pioneer.

When interactive media was just getting started about 20 years ago, Greg founded Phillips Design Group and made a name for himself as an interactive pioneer doing award-winning work for big names like Audi, Humanscale, Guinness World Records and others. His energy and creativity even earned him a spot as finalist for Ernst & Young’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and many sought after Greg for his opinions in this emerging field. Later, he merged PDG with the internet services company Eviciti Corp., but couldn’t quell his love for new frontiers so exploded onto the game scene with Gabriel Entertainment as owner/VP. Here he branched out into game IP development, concept design and creative development for PC, Xbox, online games, and Nintendo Wii games, and the love affair was sealed.

In 2007, Greg founded Plow Games. His visionary, passionate leadership has given top game developers and local university talent a perfect nest in which to thrive. When he’s not speaking at gaming conferences or writing books like 3-D Studio Hollywood and Gaming Effects and 3-D Studio Special Effects, Greg spends his time researching new technologies, tools and software to solve problems. He is an active board member in the International Game Development Association and his company has been featured in iPhone and iCreate magazines. All this and he still finds time to play games.


Derek O’Dell. Partner. Pragmatic.

Derek began working with Greg around 2002 packing more than 20 years’ experience in interactive software creation, starting out in software development for Plow Digital. Later as it became obvious they shared the same objectives and goals, Derek and Greg partnered in Plow Games. Derek offers the perfect balance to Greg’s creative vision—bringing practical process skills in software development, including project management, interactive programming, and graphics creation. His design portfolio features websites, interactive media, and games for some of the biggest brands in the world…Harley Davidson, Eli Lilly, Suzuki, VW, and Cummins Engine. The work he likes to show off includes cool software development projects for large corporations, like iPad apps for Zimmer and augmented reality programs used in trade shows for Carrier Corporation. Derek has won several awards for his interactive work, including an InVision award for his work with ZIPP racing bikes.
